"Saving Lives, One Vizsla at a Time"
Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Group, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation officially formed in 2007. Our mission is to protect the Vizsla who has been abandoned or abused. We offer additional support to humane shelters or animal rescue organizations that handle stray or surrendered Vizslas in need of care due to natural disasters or other emergencies. Our coverage area includes: Colorado, Wyoming, western Kansas, western Nebraska, and New Mexico.
NOTICE!
Hi family and friends!
Around this time each year we take time off for the holidays so our volunteers can spend time with their families.
In order for us all to have that necessary down time during the holiday season, from Tuesday, November 26, 2024 through Friday, January 3, 2025 we are suspending the processing of applications to include the suspension of conducting phone interviews and home visits.
We have found holidays to be a stressful time for a dog to go to a new home, what with all of the family comings and goings, and the noise, anxiety and stress which accompany many holiday gatherings. Therefore, we will also suspend adoptions during this time.
Of course, during this time we will continue to take in Vizslas in need and will continue to take phone calls and other contact regarding Vizslas in need. Hopefully our foster homes will be able to help if any Vizslas need to come to us.

Tika
Tika was adopted by a wonderful family where she is now living her best life. According to her new family, she has become a fabulous trail dog and perfect hiking partner. When they first adopted her, she was loud and boisterous on the trails, and only wanted to play. Now she hikes quietly, running a short distance ahead sniffing for critters and looking for squirrels. She also loves to run and play in the streams too. Congratulations Tika!
DanteSometimes you have to make the heart-breaking decision to place your Vizsla in another home. This was Dante's case. Because his owner was no longer able to take care of him, we added him to our senior sponsorship programs where he was able to live out his senior years, happy, and well-loved. Dante crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2022.
Clifford and Oliver2017 brought us two very special boys, Clifford with cleft lip and palate, and Oliver with a serious cleft palate.

How You Can Help
Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Inc., saves the lives of dozens of Vizsla and Vizsla mixes every year. Since we don't shy away from sick and/or injured Vizslas, we often have huge vet bills and foster home expenses. We are totally donation based and 100% of donations are spent on the dogs such as veterinary expenses, collars, leashes, gas for transports, etc.
